3 mistakes IT support engineer resumes make

  1. “Hardware and networking” as one line

    Break it up. Name the operating systems, the tools (Active Directory, Office 365, remote desktop), the ticketing system and how many users or machines you supported.

  2. No ticket or SLA numbers

    Support is measured. “Closed 40+ tickets a day, 96% within SLA” shows pace and reliability far better than “provided technical support”.

  3. Certifications missing

    CCNA, A+, MCSA and ITIL are commonly filtered on, even for entry-level desks. List each with the year, and mention any course you're still doing.
